Assuming that someone has disabled an account not on a domain (if your account has been disabled on a domain contact support) this tutorial is for home & office users recovering from foul play or possibly a malware infection, or for system admins who need to disable an account temporarily.
Technicians: If you do not have access to an administrator account, scroll down to “Backdoor”, otherwise proceed by first logging into the admin account.
The tutorial can also be used to enable the hidden administrator account.
Open Computer Management. Expand Local Users and Groups, select Users, and open the User. Select/deselect “Account is disabled”.
Backdoor (Enable locked/disabled Account)
So you’re locked out eh? This will be quick and easy unless this is something bigger than just a disabled account. There are many tools out there, some multi-purpose, some premium and others free. We’ll use one of the free ones I have been using over the years, Offline NT Password Reset. Download the image and burn it to your choice of medium.
Boot the ISO and press enter to continue booting.
